Welcome to the 2018 Stand Against Racism Campaign!
Stand Against Racism is a signature campaign of YWCA USA to build community among those who work for racial justice and to raise awareness about the negative impact of institutional and structural racism in our communities. The dates for the national Stand campaign are April 26 – April 29. However, in an effort to ensure as many people in our community have a chance to participate this year, YW Boston is promoting a month-long campaign. We’re asking participants to designate any week in April to help Stand Against Racism.
Organizations and community groups, as well as individual participants, are invited to register and pick up a Stand Against Racism board to be filled in with messages from your team, colleagues, friends, or family on how each will commit to helping eliminate racism in 2018.
This year, in addition to the boards, we’re inviting people to convene their community. With your team, colleagues, friends, or family, host a conversation on an article, TedTalk, book, or video, selected by YW Boston’s guest curators from diverse fields, who are actively working to end racism in the community and create a more equitable society for all.
Individuals and organizations may choose to participate in one or both of these options.
Please fill out the registration questions below and submit your form to get started. If you select YW’s curated content option for your group discussions, we will reach out to you with a link to access the curated page.
Anyone who participates in Stand Against Racism 2018 and shares photos on social media via #BostonRacialEquity, will be included in our end of April campaign recap video. All photos of your SAR 2018 activities must be shared by April 29th to be included in our recap media project. The earlier you start posting, the likelier we are to find your contributions and share them with the wider community. Register today and get ready to STAND in April!
