As YW Boston continues its mission of eliminating racism and empowering women, join us and fellow YW Boston supporters as we reflect on our accomplishments of 2021 and look towards our future goals at our 2021 Annual Meeting. Â
This past year we’ve been inspired as our various program participants, donors, and partners have joined the movement towards a more equitable future. As we work toward this brighter tomorrow, we at YW Boston consider it our responsibility to help cultivate the passionate spark felt from our supporters this past year as they’ve responded to various injustices towards people of color, women, and particularly women of color. It’s this idea of sustaining activism and helping others continue to join the movement towards racial and gender equity that will serve as a central theme of our Annual Meeting.Â
Here, you’ll also have the opportunity to hear from YW Boston President & CEO Beth Chandler to learn about various elements of our organization including our programing, how we go about our work, and our impact. We’ll also hear from Marguerite Fletcher, chair of YW Boston’s Board of Directors as we induct two new board members: John Anderson, Global Head Corporate Finance & Infrastructure at Manulife and Vicky Levy, Global Life Sciences Practice Leader at Deloitte.Â
Our keynote speaker Dr. Makeeba McCreary is a 2020 YW Boston Academy of Women Achievers awardee, and the former Chief of Learning and Engagement at the Museum of Fine Arts Boston. She currently serves as first President of the New Commonwealth Racial Equity and Social Justice Fund (NCF). NCF is a coalition founded of Black and Brown executives from Massachusetts’ leading corporations united to support Black and Brown communities amid the COVID-19 pandemic and in the wake of the brutal killing by police of George Floyd.  We look forward to hearing more about her experiences and perspectives as a lifelong Bostonian, who has held important roles in both the Boston Public Schools and in Arts and Culture, and to learning about her vision for NCF.Â
