LeadBoston debuts online engagement platform

YWBostonConnect_Email

LeadBoston has been developing and empowering local leaders committed to diversity and inclusion for almost thirty years. As YW Boston’s longest-standing program, LeadBoston continues to evolve in order to meet the needs of the city’s changing socio-economic landscape. In addition to LeadBoston’s hands-on experiential learning opportunities and monthly program days, we’ve launched a new component, YW Boston Connect.

The YW Boston Connect platform will enhance the experience of the current LeadBoston class by allowing participants to access and discuss new resources, such as online learning modules and custom webinars hosted by LeadBoston alumni. Since its launch in January, the platform has already elevated the ability of classmates to support each other’s learning. For example, after the class’ recent overnight “Advance”, classmates posted invitations to community events, recommendations of books to further explore race and racism, job opportunities, and a podcast on gender, power, and fairness. They are also using the platform to plan get togethers outside of class time, building the relationships that will last well after the program year ends.

“LeadBoston was literally one of the best career decisions that I’ve made thus far.”

True-See Allah, LeadBoston Class of 2009

Director of Outreach and Reentry, UTEC

Building off the initial success with LeadBoston 2020, YW Boston staff will roll out YW Boston Connect for our alumni community. Through the platform, LeadBoston participants and alumni will be able to browse, search, filter, and find alumni by class year, industry, job title, and more. Alumni will find that it is easier than ever to leverage the power of the LeadBoston Network to find collaborators in the City of Boston and to advance inclusion.

“Graduating from LeadBoston was such a refreshing experience, not only because the program exemplifies what true inclusive leadership is all about but also because it challenges our core beliefs around social justice. I’m grateful for the lasting impact it had on my growth as a leader and consensus builder.”

Sundip Arora, LeadBoston Class of 2011

Director, North American Storage and Data Solutions, Hewlett Packard Enterprise

“LeadBoston has been an incredible opportunity to build what I hope to be lasting connections across what so often divides us – sectors, race and ethnicity, issues – among folks who share a fervent desire to make our communities better.”

Lisa Goldblatt Grace, LeadBoston Class of 2019

Co-Founder & Executive Director, My Life My Choice
