Ava Archibald joined YW Boston as the Racial Justice Program Manager in April of 2018. She brings to YW Boston a wealth of knowledge and expertise in moving learning communities toward shared experiences of respect, inclusivity, and equity.
A veteran educator and seasoned race dialogues facilitator, Ava is deeply committed to helping individuals strengthen their communities through an applied understanding of social justice issues, as well as through meaningful awareness of the impact inequity and injustice has on those most affected by racism, intrinsic biases, and systemic oppression.
Prior to joining YW Boston, Ava was Director of Community & Equity Affairs at the St. Mark’s School in Southborough, and before that, an English teacher at the Cambridge School of Weston.
Most recently, she worked as a diversity consultant for St. Mark’s and for H.L. Stoutt Community College in the British Virgin Islands.
Ava earned a BA in Mass Communication and English Literature from Taylor University in Upland, Indiana, and an MLA in English and American Literature from Harvard.
