Marinna Carrera-Raleigh joined the YWBoston Team in April of 2022 as the new Leadership Services Senior Associate for LeadBoston. In her role, Marinna supports the LeadBoston team in the planning and communications of the LeadBoston program to ensure it runs smoothly and effectively. She also supports participants and alum in their journey to becoming more inclusive leaders through learning about diversity, equity, and inclusion and implementing these practices in their own companies. Marinna is most excited to learn more about Boston and its neighborhoods through her new position!
Prior to joining YWBoston, Marinna graduated from Clark University where she obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with two minors in Political Science and Philosophy. Throughout her college career, Marinna was consistently involved in community building. She was a part of the International Student’s Association, the Wellness Group, the Center for Gender Race and Area Studies, and enjoyed being a mentor and peer to Clark University’s first-year students. Outside of the college campus, she also made sure to volunteer in non-profit organizations and food pantries such as Main Idea and Jeremiah’s Inn. While studying psychology, she assisted Emily He’s study on “Disparities of Untreated Psychosis and Pathways to Care Investigation” and hopes to gain more experience in psychology research.
Marinna is from Panama and has also grown up in the UAE, hence her love for South American and Middle Eastern cuisine. In her free time, she enjoys reading literary fiction and essays pertaining to the social sciences and humanity. She also enjoys traveling, cooking, and going on mental health walks.
