Rebecca serves as InclusionBoston Manager for small to medium organizations.
She brings over a decade of experience facilitating dialogues, building relationships, and collaborative problem solving. Her work has focused on building inclusive communities based in common interests, cross-cultural understanding, and shared appreciation of each member as a unique individual.
Rebecca’s journey as a Community Builder started at YW Boston in 2010, when she was trained as volunteer facilitator of the Community Dialogues on Race. She then founded and led the musical community Voices of Harmony, creating a space where people from diverse backgrounds can come together to learn, perform music from cultures around the world, and engage in meaningful cross-cultural dialogue. In 2014 Rebecca joined Big Sister Boston, where she supported relationships between Big Sisters (women volunteering their time to build a friendship based on fun activities and common interests), Little Sisters (girls+ from all around the metro-Boston area) and their families. Over 7 years, Rebecca supported thousands of these relationships, by observing and analyzing cultural differences, coaching with nuance and compassion, and honoring individuals’ needs and capacities.
Rebecca was excited to return to YW Boston in 2021, coming back full circle, to contribute again to the pioneering force that is InclusionBoston.
When asked about the achievements she is most proud of, Rebecca shares that she backpacked around Europe for 6 months and self-published a book of her photos from that time, as well as the incredible journey of parenthood that she and her partner Scott have been on since their daughter Penelope was born in November of 2018.
