Pat McSweeney

(she/her)

Since her retirement from a career in human resources management, Pat has devoted more of her time to community and nonprofit volunteer work. She has been involved in several Boston City Council campaigns, served on the Boston Cultural Council, and on the boards of YW Boston, The Institute for Nonprofit Practice, and The Philanthropy Connection. At The Philanthropy Connection, she co-chaired the Grants Committee, chaired grant review teams, and led workshops to introduce members to advocacy work. She is also a fiber artist and has exhibited her work in shows around eastern Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire. After living in Charleston for almost 40 years, she recently moved to East Boston where she is enjoying exploring the neighborhood, investigating volunteer opportunities, getting involved with the local artists’ group, and hoping to get to the top of the waiting list at one of the neighborhood community gardens.

Help us create a more equitable city

YW Boston addresses individual, interpersonal, and structural barriers in order to create more equitable spaces for women, people of color, and especially women of color.
