Sulekha Hussein

Sulekha is an undergraduate student at the University of Massachusetts Boston studying International Relations and Management, with a strong interest in global policy and social equity. Born in the United Kingdom and raised in the United States, since the age of seven, she brings an intercultural perspective to both her academic work and community engagement. Her experiences have deepened her commitment to advocating for youth, women, and marginalized communities. 

Through roles with the United Nations Association of Greater Boston and Grace Ladies Global Academy, Sulekha has supported youth education initiatives, women’s empowerment programs, and community-based efforts that promote leadership, awareness, and global engagement. She has contributed to program development, outreach, research, and community engagement on both local and international social issues. Sulekha is passionate about driving systemic change and expanding access to opportunities for diverse communities. 

She currently serves as a Civic Action Fellow and campus leader, where she promotes civic participation and educational equity. In addition, Sulekha works as an Advancement Intern at Economic Mobility Pathways (EMPath), supporting efforts that address economic mobility and poverty. Through her advocacy and community work, she aspires to help advance policies and initiatives that empower individuals and create pathways toward equity and inclusion.
