Building Courage in DEI Work: 7 Benefits of Being Part of an Inclusive Community 

Navigating the path of diversity, equity, and inclusion work has presented new challenges in the face of increased opposition, harmful rhetoric, and the use of hateful tactics designed to discredit DEI work as integral to the success of our workplaces and communities. It’s crucial to acknowledge these hurdles as we collectively strive for progress.  

In times of adversity, our commitment to fostering inclusivity and dismantling systemic barriers becomes even more essential. Currently, YW Boston is exploring the importance of courage in DEI work, delving into the different types of courage and their impact on continuing to move the needle forward. Courage is our greatest strength. With it, we can overcome obstacles, push through our fears, and continue the important work of building a more equitable and just future.  

Together, we can be courageous and remain steadfast, strategic, and deliberate in the face of resistance and backlash.

Being part of our movement for racial and gender equity means sharing values and goals with a supportive community. Together, we find strength, celebrate successes, and draw inspiration from one another. Through shared courage, we dismantle obstacles, turning adversity into an opportunity for transformative change.
