Date: Thursday, October 22, 2026
Time: 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM EDT
Location: Zoom
Your Ballot, Your Power: a space designed for anyone who’s ready to demystify the election process, solidify your rights as a voter, and understand what your ballot and your power can change this 2026 election season.
What to expect:
- An introduction to the host organizations and their expertises — a preview of what you’ll dig into in the breakout rooms
- Two rounds of breakout sessions, so you can visit two of the three topics below
- Time for live group debrief & Q&A
- A closing call to action — ways to stay engaged past Election Day
Breakout rooms (you can choose in the moment)
1. Know Your Rights
Facilitated by Brooke Simone, Attorney, Lawyers for Civil Rights
What protections you have as a voter — including what to know about potential ICE presence or federal involvement at polling places, language access, your right to stay in line and vote, and MA’s photo ID laws.
2. Demystifying the Ballot
Facilitated by David Green, Organizing Director, Partners in Democracy MA Action and Marisol Santiago, Policy and Organizing Director, MassVOTE
A plain-language walkthrough of what’s actually on the 2026 Massachusetts ballot and what it means for you.
3. Get Involved / Trainings
Facilitated by Celia Canavan, Executive Director of League of Women Voters MA and Evan Drukker-Schardl, Field Director, MA Voter Table
How to stay engaged beyond your own vote — canvassing, phone-banking, and upcoming trainings, including Election Protection.
You’ll get to attend two of the three rooms, so pick what matters most to you — and come back to the main room to hear what everyone else discovered.
A note on nonpartisanship: YW Boston is a nonpartisan organization. We do not endorse candidates, but we are able to take positions on ballot questions. Some of the organizations partnering with us on this event are separately involved in campaigns to pass or defeat specific 2026 ballot questions, as part of their own independent advocacy work. Their campaign positions are their own — not necessarily YW Boston’s, and not an official position of this event. Our goal is to make sure every attendee leaves with the facts and the resources to reach their own conclusions.
