Gender Inclusion Statement
At YW Boston, we are committed to executing our mission of eliminating racism and empowering women through uplifting the experience of all women and girls regardless of the sex they were assigned at birth. General Statement of Duties
YW Boston is at a pivotal moment in its history. As the organization executes on a new strategic plan to deepen its impact, the Chief Financial and Operating Officer (CFOO) is a senior, part-time executive position central to this next chapter. This role is both a strategic architect and a financial steward — responsible for setting the financial vision, systems, and discipline.
The part-time CFOO will bring strong business acumen, a systems view of financial operations, and a bold willingness to build scalable processes grounded in accurate, timely data. This role is engaged on a part-time basis (20–24 hours per week) and is expected to prioritize high-leverage strategic and oversight work, delegating day-to-day bookkeeping and transactional tasks to YW Boston staff and an outsourced accounting team.
The part-time CFOO will serve as a trusted financial advisor and steward of YW Boston’s fiscal health — designing, building, and overseeing the organization’s finance function. They will partner closely with the President & CEO and Executive Team to develop a comprehensive financial strategy that supports operational effectiveness, manages risk, and positions the organization for sustainable growth.
The part-time Chief Financial and Operating Officer will report to the President & Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
This position is hybrid-eligible, and flexibility is expected around board meetings, fundraising cycles, audits, or year-end close. Occasional participation in scheduled evening or weekend board meetings is expected.
