Michi Holmes Foster

Michi Holmes Foster is a visionary finance and operations executive with over 15 years of leadership experience across the nonprofit, government, and private sectors. She currently leads the MHFoster Group, providing strategic CFO and operational advisory services to mission-driven organizations focused on equity, community development, and systems transformation.
Michi’s career includes senior leadership roles at Project Bread, the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT), and the City of Boston. Her expertise spans strategic finance, grant management, real estate development, enterprise operations, and public-sector accountability.
She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA), researching leadership excellence, organizational trust, and systems accountability. Michi is deeply committed to advancing economic empowerment, governance equity, and leadership pathways for Women of Color in Boston and beyond.
As a member of the Women of Color Advisory Council, Michi brings a collaborative, strategy-centered lens grounded in lived experience, public service, and a belief that collective leadership creates sustainable change.
