Tom Nyer

(he/him)

Tom Nyer (he/him) is a Massachusetts native who went to Parker Charter school, before joining the Army at 18. After serving he graduated from UMass Boston, working at a variety of accounting jobs before finding his vocation at the Department of Veterans Affairs. He is now a Rating Specialist at the Boston Veterans Benefits Administration, assisting our nation’s veterans with getting healthcare and disability compensation. At his career in the VA he has spent time specializing as a coordinator for veterans experiencing homelessness, as well as a coordinator for survivors of Military Sexual Trauma. With a passion for helping people and the opportunity to do more, Tom is excited to join the team at YW Boston to help make an impact with our neighbors throughout the Boston area.”
