Rachael McCoy is the Director of Leadership Services at YW Boston, where she designs and facilitates leadership development experiences that help individuals, teams, and organizations lead with courage, connection, and sustainability. 

A Bostonian and proud Dorchester native, Rachael is passionate about investing in the city and communities that shaped her. She believes Boston’s greatest strength is its people and is committed to helping develop leaders who will help build a more just, connected, and joyful city. 

With more than 18 years of experience in facilitation, adult learning, and leadership development, Rachael has designed and facilitated hundreds of workshops, retreats, executive learning experiences, and professional development programs across the education, nonprofit, corporate, and public sectors. At YW Boston, she oversees the flagship leadership program, LeadBoston, develops innovative learning experiences, and cultivates partnerships that strengthen leadership across sectors. 

Before joining YW Boston in 2019, Rachael served as a teacher, instructional coach, and school leader in Boston Public Schools, where she coached educators, designed professional learning, and led school-wide improvement initiatives. She holds a Master of Education from Boston University and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Georgia State University. 

Rachael’s work is grounded in the belief that leadership shouldn’t come at the expense of the leader’s wellbeing. She is especially passionate about creating spaces where leaders can reflect honestly, build authentic community, and develop practical tools to navigate complexity with resilience and purpose. As a working mother of three children, her experiences have deepened her commitment to helping leaders balance the demands of work, caregiving, and personal wellbeing. She believes leadership is most impactful when it is both courageous and sustainable.
