Stand Against Racism is less than a month away!

We at YW Boston are excited to work with you and your communities to make this campaign impactful and long-lasting. We have put together this guide in which you will find information about the campaign, tips for amplifying your STAND message, and a toolkit including useful frameworks to help you host conversations about race and racism.

What is Stand Against Racism?

Stand Against Racism is a signature campaign of YWCA USA to build community among those who work for racial justice and to raise awareness about the negative impact of institutional racism in our communities.  The dates for the national STAND campaign are April 26 – April 29.  However, in an effort to ensure as many people in our community have a chance to participate this year, YW Boston is promoting a month-long campaign. We’re asking participants to designate any week in April to help Stand Against Racism.

How to participate in Stand Against Racism 2019

Individuals and organizations may choose to participate in one or both of these options.

1. Register and pick up a Stand Against Racism pledge board or place a print order yourself

Organizations, community groups, and individual participants are invited to pick up a pledge board to be filled in with messages from your team, colleagues, friends, or family on how each will commit to helping eliminate racism in 2019. You may also choose to receive a printable file so you can place your own print order.

2. Convene and host a discussion around exclusive curated content

With your team, colleagues, friends, or family, host a conversation around an article, book or video selected by YW Boston’s guest curators. Our curators come from diverse fields and are actively working to end racism in their communities and create a more equitable society for all.
